Liberatory Consent Workshop Series

This 12-week online workshop series is for people ready to co-create a new standard for consent, connection, and communication - one rooted in power awareness, embodiment, and relational skills. This is a beta offering, and I’m looking for folks ready to go deep, offer feedback, and help shape this work together.

“Sam's brilliant work in consent helped me reframe how I understood relationships in my life. In a world that pulls us harshly between constant communal need and broken concepts of rugged individualism, the Liberatory Consent model is a breath of fresh air. It allows me to understand my care as a gift and helps me learn and honor my limits. Sam's facilitation honors the history of the work, invites participation with clarity and precision, and demonstrates so beautifully the simple power of the Liberatory Consent.”

- Phil Stoesz, Co-Director and Certified Trainer of the Critical Response Process

““I've been struggling with enthusiastic as a mode for consent for a bit, so I think my biggest takeaway is that I'm not alone there and that there is forward momentum to be had!”

-Workshop participant

“What resonated to me the most was…getting to practice these and really feeling what that felt like in my body...I think these ideas could help those in my community get more in touch with themselves, what they really want, have more self-understanding and be able to communicate more effectively and have more honest and positive relationships.”

-Elena

Course Description

Enthusiastic consent is no longer the gold standard, and theory alone isn't enough to change how we relate. This 12-week workshop series offers a deeper, more embodied, and power-aware approach to consent and communication.

Liberatory Consent is an experiential framework grounded in trauma-informed practice, relational skill-building, and intersectional power awareness. Rather than focusing solely on how to give or receive a “yes” or “no,” this course supports participants in developing the nuanced, ongoing skills needed to navigate relationships with nuance, empathy, and self-advocacy.
